"MOSES"

This is Moses.

We found moses roaming in our complex and started feeding him. Very quickly we (especially me) grew very attached to this little guy and wanted to keep him for our own. Lori took him to the vet because he was skinny and we thought he might have worms and fleas. To our surprise, we found out that he had few fleas and no worms. Lori came home and told me some disturbing news.........

You see, moses (we think) was left behind by someone because he was very friendly and affectionate but was unsure of us at first.

He is only about 1.5 to 2 years old and had been living outside for probably quite some time. He was very skinny. This cat has been in lots of fights and when i got home, lori told me something that made me very sad, Moses had been tested for FIV (feline AIDS) and was tested POSITIVE!!!

For info on FIV, Go HERE

The doctor suggested we put him to sleep, but we brought him home instead. He's been staying in our bedroom safe from the outside (but we let him out at nights because that is what he likes)

We wanted to keep him but we did not want our three cats to get the FIV so we looked for options in which lori (while at the vet with moses) was told by a man that there was a shelter for cat's like him that "DON'T KILL" and it was in arlington!

The place is called:

PURRFECT-PALS

This was one of two places that we called and both places could not take him because they had too many cats and were full...=(

I did "NOT" want to put him to sleep and neither did lori, so we asked if he could be put on a waiting list.

Well, it was a month to a month and a half and we needed our bedroom back (one bedroom apt you know) so we called P.P. again and they agreed to take him.

He now resides with lots of other cats like him at the shelter there in arlington. We sponser him so we can make sure he is taken care of until hopefully he is adopted. =)

He loves to play with string and likes to be held with his paws on your shoulder facing you with one of your arms suporting his hind legs below! he just purrs and purrs.

We miss and love him very much. We vist him an hour away once a week where he is, so we can keep in touch with him.

When we get a bigger place, we've talked about getting him back and getting him a friend to keep him company, so we can be one big happy family!
